The yet-to-be-titled script has been penned by Chris Morgan, who has written a handful of Fast Saga films, including Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, which saw Dwayne Johnson starring opposite Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw.
Dwayne Johnson is set to make a rocking (no pun intended) comeback to the Fast and Furious universe.
He will be coming back to the franchise in a Fast and Furious standalone film and will also reprise his role as Luke Hobbs.
Luke Hobbs, will be coming back. Universal Pictures announced the project on Thursday, June 1. Longtime Fast and Furious collaborator Chris Morgan will be writing the untitled film’s script.
The details of the plot are not yet out and it has been said that the new movie will act as a bridge between the events of the just-released Fast X and the upcoming Fast X: Part II, which is expected in 2025.
The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II (sic).”
